Penguin Canada

Collaborating with designers, authors, and marketers to come up with eye-catching covers, dynamic book copy, and the perfect title honed my love for creative ideation and knowledge of market-specific copy. I offered editorial direction to major titles and copy edited with a careful eye, ensuring novels met their bestseller potential.

Working across genres from fiction, literary non-fiction, and lifestyle gave me a wide breadth of knowledge of different markets. Keeping my finger on the pulse of trends allowed me to offer crucial notes on business opportunities and craft offer letters to procure significant titles for the imprint.

Heart & Stroke

Interviewing, writing, and publishing survivor stories on the Heart & Stroke website required the delicate balance of empathetic and relatable—while providing clear information on the signs of a heart episode or stroke. Creating health information pages required precise and impactful language, knowing the right phrasing could save lives. Several assets I created were crucial to the Women and Heart Disease awareness campaign, including calls to action and aligning with marketing goals.

Kaleidoscope Magazine

As editor-in-chief of the University of Guelph’s literary magazine, I lead an editorial team in selecting content, aligned artwork to accompany each submission, and co-managed a team to make the magazine successful—from fundraising to launch party.
